Using My NEW SU PAPERS

I really love my new stampin up cardstock and designer paper. My first card with it is with Tangerine Tango and the designer paper. The stamps are from my new hostess set Organic Garden. Just love those dragonflies! I used a large Marvy scalloped circle punch with a little edge piercing and the flower from the stamp. I just added great new matching button and a little twine to balance it off.

I double stamped the dragonfly and cut out the second image, adherring it to the matching image to add a little interest. The edge punch is from Martha Stewart and the saying stamp from an old Anne Griffin set. A little Old Olive grosgrain at the end of the dragon strip and a little more piercing on the tips of the orange and Bob's your uncle!!! Hope you enjoy it.

Peyton's 2nd Birthday

My granddaughter had her birthday on Monday and she just loved all her clothes and really didn't have the time of day for the toys!!! She really is a clothes horse!!! At two, believe it or not!. I made her a card with SU papers and the cuttlebug to emboss the back with 2 different folders. I like that look. It adds a little more interest, I think. I used the great big flower stamp and stamped on the reverse side then cut it out. My new scalloped punch and 2 consecutive sized round punches for the center bit. Also, I used my great new scalloped edge punch. Wow, does it really make it easier.

STAMPIN UP SCRAPLIFT

As promised, this is a get well card for my dear friend. I can't claim any creative prowess for this card as it is a lift from the new Stampin Up catalogue. I used the now retired GROOVY GUAVA designer paper and textured cardstock in the matching colour. I think it works and hope she will like it too!

PEYTON PUSS PICTURES

Just thought I would share a couple of pictures of our beautiful little granddaughter in her playhouse and wearing the RCMP paper hat we got when we were at the Sunset Retreat at the RCMP Depot in Regina. We were fortunate to have witnessed this patriotic and inspiring presentation by the cadets of the historic center for training of our national police force. The newly opened and modern designed interpretation center was really interesting and really gave you a sense of the history of our country thru the growth of the RCMP.

THANKS TO A DEAR FRIEND

My dearest friend, Debbie, is so sweet to ask us to dinner to celebrate our anniversary together. Unfortunately, she injured her shoulder and the dinner was postponed until next weekend. What a trooper!

(I guess this should be a get well card and I may still do that), but this is the one I made to thank her for being such a good friend. It is mostly Stampin' Up products, N. of Navy, Creamy Caramel, Very Vanilla cardstock. The ribbon is retired 7/8 inch navy and creamy caramel grosgrain. The punched edge is a new Martha Stewart punch that IMHA is just great!

I was hoping the stamped image would turn out a little darker for the camera, but I wanted it to be soft. It was coloured with copic markers and brightened with a little Stickles.

I know, I know!

I am sorry it has been so-o-o-o-0000 long since I have blogged here. Life has a way of getting away from you sometimes!

I hope to be putting up some pictures soon of what I have been up to over the months, my travels and, of course, my beautiful granddaughter. Off to work now.

It's Been a Busy Couple of Weeks!

I have been busy with work and play(granddaughter, friends and, of course, scrapbooking). I have posted a few cards on the SCS website and thought I would share with you one I made for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge. I know you are say "there is no cupcake, what is she taking about!?"The challenge doesn't include cupcakes or even eating them, it is just that Taylor likes cupcakes! Here is my card for the submission. It was make with all Su products except the ribbon and vintage button. The paper is a summer picnic designer paper that just screams for citrus fruits. So the image is from the SU Tart and Tangy stamp set I just got. I stamped and colored it with SU makers in Old Olive and Summer Sun and then covered it with Crystal Effects to make it juicy. I love the vintage buttons I have gathered from thrift stores and my Mom's stash. (Yes, she still sews at the age of 88!). It was really fun to follow the sketch and put a little of my own twist into it. TFL
